CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTION SEES POSITIVE GLOBAL TREND BUT SERIOUS PROBLEMS REMAIN
In spite of a global trend to better recognize the right to conscientious objection – which is marked with an International Day on 15 May – those who exercise that right are often discriminated against, persecuted, repeatedly punished or sent to prison in many countries, first results of a study being conducted by the World Council of Churches (WCC) show. Who I am
My name is Avril Hannah-Jones. I am the minister at the Romsey, Lancefield, Riddells Creek and Mount Macedon Uniting Churches. After spending eighteen months as what the Uniting Church calls a “Ministry Intern” I was ordained on October 5, 2008 and am now a Minister of the Word. So, occasionally this blog will feature sermons and other products of my ministerial life. At other times I’ll blog about absolutely anything upon which I feel like commenting.
